How Healthy is Your Provisioning Solution?

It’s easy to assume that everything is running smoothly when you can’t see any visible signs of wear and tear. But just like your car or home, your provisioning solution also requires regular maintenance. As your environment grows or network architecture changes, your solution may not function as well as it once did, or as well as it should. When was the last time you looked under the hood?

For something as mission-critical as your device provisioning system, there are a number of question you need to answer, such as:

  • What is the current load for all services?
  • Are your services at risk?
  • How much is each service capable of scaling based on current load and subscriber growth rates?
  • What is the health of server resources, such as disk space and memory?
  • Are all licenses are up-to-date?
  • How secure is your solution?
  • Are there provisions for redundancy or failover?
  • Are the services configured using expert recommendations and best practice guidelines?

Once you’ve established the questions and considered all the factors, you need a plan of action.
